Selçuk İşitsel Muhakeme ve İşlem Becerileri Testi (SİMİBT)’nin Geliştirilmesi ve Geçerlik-Güvenirlik Çalışması

The purpose of this research is to develop a scale to evaluate the auditory reasoning and processing skills of preschool children, and to make validity and reliability of this scale. The sample of the study consisted of 400 children aged 5-6 (60-72 months) who were attending public and private pre-primary education institutions in Konya, Meram, Karatay and Selçuklu. Selçuk Auditory Reasoning and Processing Skills’ Test (SIMIBT) was used as a data collection tool. Steps in the development of SIMIBT are creation of a theoretical framework, creation of the item pool, contacting the expert opinion and statistical analysis for validity and reliability. In testing the reliability of the scale while developing SIMIBT, reliability coefficient, test-retest and inter-rater compliance correlation values; In order to test validity, expert opinion, item analysis, exploratory factor analysis, confirmatory factor analysis and subtest correlation values were calculated. As a result, SIMIBT has six factors (General Knowledge, Arithmetical Reasoning, Similarities, Verbal Meanings, Analogy Completion and Causal Reasoning), and it was composed of 31 items and its reliability coefficient was calculated as 0.87.
